HEPA Air PurfiersHEPA Air purifiers are small enough to fit on a desk, large enough to clean an entire house or a large room.High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter is a type of filter which removes particles in the air by forcing it through screens containing microscopic pores A HEPA air purifier extracts air from your room and filters it, then forces it back into your living area. These screens, or filters, need to be changed periodically. However, HEPA air purifiers trap and remove approximately 99.7% of the dust and pollen particles in the air. Once the air is filtered, it is returned back to the room, desk, house, or living area that it was removed from, but now it is purified. HEPA technology is now used in vaccuum cleaners, heaters, and air conditioners as well. A HEPA air purifier is one of the best ways to live with clean pure air. HEPA air purifiers will not remove odors on their own. Odors and gasses are too small to be trapped by the HEPA filter pad, and therefore they pass right through. Most new HEPA air purifiers also are fitted with a place for activated carbon. This could be in pellet form or in a sheet. Activated carbon absorbs odor and gas, so it also must be changed occassionally. A HEPA filter with a place for activated carbon is perfect for people that don't mind occassionally changing filters. |
